Wooden ornament | Natural bird

The natural bird has been carved out of a fallen jacaranda tree branch. We wanted the craftmanship to show on the carved surface. You can hang the charming ornament from its ribbon on a doorway, in a window or Christmas tree.

Through Made51, Mifuko collaborates with Kapya Kitungwa and his workshop to produce ornamental wooden birds. Kapya is a Congolese refugee artisan living in Nairobi, Kenya and his workshop employs other refugees living in the area.

All wood ornaments are designed by Mifuko.

Each Mifuko product carries the name of its maker.

Radically sustainable

Mifuko baskets weave together timeless Nordic design and traditional African handcraft. Each unique item is a work of hands and hearts, beautiful yet durable. As a beautiful detail each of our bags is signed by the artisan who made it. We want their stories spread to all homes.

We are a certified member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO). Fair Trade certification ensures that products have been produced following WFTO's principles and putting people and nature first in everything we do.
