Jacaranda wood

Wooden ornament | Carved bird

We named this little bird Tumaini which in Swahili means trust and it's our signature bird for Mifuko Trust – our non-profit organization that aims to improve the lives of the artisans and their communities through projects like Wash and Grow! project, which builds dry toilets. Mifuko donates all the profits from the sales of Tumaini birds to Mifuko Trust.

Tumaini has been carved out of a fallen jacaranda tree branch and it can be hung from its ribbon on a doorway, in a window or Christmas tree. Or use it to decorate your bag.

We are a certified member of the World Fair Trade organization and each of our ornaments is signed by the artisan who made it.
