Mifuko works with the MADE51 workshop to give work to refugees living in Kenya. Kapya Kitungwa is a refugee from Congo and has set up his workshop in Nairobi to provide work for other refugees living in Kenya. Wood carving is a traditional handcraft in Congo, a skill that is passed down through generations. Kapya Kitungwa learned the skill from his father, and today he creates unique and beautiful wooden items with his team of other refugees. Kapya dreams that his workshop will continue to grow, providing much-needed income for these artisans.
Do not wash the wooden box or lid in the dishwasher. Wash it with warm water and rinse it with cold water. You can treat the box with poppy seed oil or linseed oil from time to time.
