Natural materials that we use in our production are wood, sisal and palm tree leaves.
Natural fibres in our bags and baskets are made from sisal and palm tree leaves. Both sisal plants and palm trees grow in the dry soil of Kenya needing no chemical fertilizers.
Sisal is very durable as a fibre (more durable than jute, seagrass or water hyacinth). It takes dying well and it is also anti-static.
Palm leaves are durable, strong and eco-friendly material. Only some of the leaves are collected from riverside palms and the trees are left to grow.
Our ornaments are carved from fallen twigs of jacaranda trees. We never cut down trees to make our products!
Paper is a beautiful eco-friendly material that can be recycled easily. Paper is also compostable. All brown coloured paper in our products is unbleached. Bags and baskets made of paper are very light weight yet durable.
