These charming ornaments are made from fallen jacaranda tree branches, carved, and painted by hand for a unique touch. Hang them up on decorative branches, doors, windows, or Christmas trees. You can also use them as keychains or to decorate your bags and purses. This set contains three handmade bee eater ornaments.

The bee eater is found in forested areas of Africa and Asia. They are known for their vibrant plumage and long beaks. They use their pointy beak to catch flying insects, especially bees and wasps.

The story of two friends

Mifuko was founded in 2009 by two Finnish designers, Minna and Mari. The idea for Mifuko was born at a market in Nairobi, Kenya, where Kiondo basket weaving is a traditional craft. Minna and Mari were amazed by the craftsmanship of local artisans and wanted to share it with a wider audience.

Mifuko was founded with a clear objective: to combine Nordic design and traditional African handicraft into a business that directly benefits rural Kenyan women and their communities. In Swahili, “mifuko” means pocket, and we make sure that no one's pocket is left empty.

Radically sustainable

We at Mifuko have been radically sustainable from the beginning, striving for sustainability in everything we do. We are determined to be a part of building
a better, sustainable future. We want to contribute to solving the issues humanity faces, such as poverty, gender inequality, pollution, and loss of biodiversity.
