Mifuko is a Certified B Corporation and a Guaranteed Fair Trade Enterprise of the World Fair Trade Organization.On this page, we publish the key commitments and policies that guide how we work with artisans, workers, customers, business partners, communities, and the environment.

Our Purpose

Mifuko exists to bring joy to our customers while improving the welfare of women artisans and their communities in rural Africa.We pursue this through fair trade partnerships with over 1,300 artisans in Kenya, Tanzania, and Ghana, traditional craftsmanship combined with contemporary Nordic design, and a transparent supply chain built on long-term relationships.

Equity & Inclusion Commitment

Mifuko was founded to create long-term, fair commercial partnerships with women artisan groups in rural communities.Our artisan network is almost entirely women, and our operations span Finland and Kenya. We commit to equity and inclusion across our policies and practices — in our own workplaces, in our artisan partnerships, in our customer relationships, and in how we communicate.

Climate Action Plan

We have measured our greenhouse gas footprint using the GHG Protocol since 2022. Our Climate Action Plan sets specific emission reduction targets and timelines covering freight, energy, materials, waste, and business travel.

Mifuko does not engage in direct lobbying.We participate in selected industry, sustainability, and fair trade organisations. This policy sets out how we engage in public affairs, how we assess alignment with our purpose, and how we report on that engagement annually.
