Welcome to the Mifuko Trust website!

Mifuko Trust is a non-profit organisation founded in 2012. We carry out projects together with local communities and partners in Kenya. Our grassroots partner is Mifuko Women Development CBO, which works with women’s self-help groups and local communities. Mifuko Trust also collaborates with Mifuko Oy but operates as a separate non-profit organisation.

Mifuko Trust believes that small actions can make a big difference. Through our projects, we provide training and resources for women, young people and community members. Our ongoing projects in Kenya, WASH and Grow! II and Sowing Equality, focus on areas including sanitation and hygiene, access to water, climate-smart agriculture and forest gardening, as well as gender equality and social inclusion. In 2026, we are implementing the Kädenjälki project in Finland together with Nuorten Akatemia, in which upper secondary-level students explore the connections between climate change, equality and inequality.

At the heart of Mifuko Trust’s work are collaboration, equality, well-being and courage. Together with communities and our partners, we seek new ways to respond to local needs and combine local knowledge with practical solutions. We monitor the implementation and results of our projects using both quantitative and qualitative indicators.
