Mifuko's commitment to sustainability continues

Our goal is to contribute to solving the issues humanity faces, such as poverty, gender inequality and loss of biodiversity.

Mifuko has always been radically sustainable from the beginning, striving for sustainability in everything we do. Our goal is to contribute to solving the issues humanity faces, such as poverty, gender inequality and loss of biodiversity. We are also particularly committed to actively fighting climate change by limiting our own environmental impact by ensuring that all Mifuko products are handmade from sustainable materials.

We produce handmade, high-quality products that serve their purpose for a long time. All Mifuko products are made from environmentally friendly materials such as paper, sisal, surplus wool from the carpet industry, fallen Palm leaves, Milulu grass, Elephant grass, Soapstone, Jacaranda wood from freshly fallen branches and recycled plastic. The entire supply chain is transparent and Mifuko offsets carbon emissions from the shipping between Kenya and Finland.

All Mifuko products are handmade by talented artisans in local self-help groups in rural Africa and Fair-Trade workshops.

Our commitment to fighting climate change employs two strategies: limiting our own environmental impact as outlined above and strengthening people’s resilience to climate change. To help strengthen people’s resilience to climate change, we launched WASH and Grow! This is a that aims to improve sanitation and hygiene conditions and promote sustainable agriculture in rural Kenya. The project is working on both WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and regenerative agriculture simultaneously.

We approach sustainability from a broad perspective and are committed to playing our part in ensuring the health of society and the planet progressively improves.
